Background

GHIV Africa since moving to Northeast Nigeria in 2019 has been implementing humanitarian and developmental interventions in Health, Nutrition, Education, GBV/SRH, WASH, Livelihoods, and Protection.

These interventions have directly targeted over 18,000 vulnerable, women, men, girls, and boys as well as people with disabilities.

Determined to expand her interventions to reach more vulnerable groups in the conflict area, GHIV Africa will be implementing a Nutrition TSFP project in Nganzai LGA , Borno state in partnership with funding from the World Food Program (WFP).

In order to successfully implement this project, GHIV Africa is looking for a suitable candidate for the position of TSFP Service Provider for the period of 4 months.

The incumbent will be in charge of ensuring the implementation of the project in Nganzai, he/she will be stationed in Nganzai. The TSFP Service Provider will report directly to Nutrition Officer.

Job Purpose

Under the supervision of the Nutrition Officer (TSFP), She/he will proactively support GHIV Africa in providing TSFP Service to conduct the WFP Moderate Acute Malnutrition prevention activities at field location within the framework of the WFP project.

The position holder is responsible for the Community Mobilization and sensitization activities during the project implementation.

Monitor as well as implement the TSFP project in the deep field location in accordance to GHIV Africa’s SOPs

Responsibilities

Conduct daily screening/ Admission of the children with Moderate Acute malnutrition

Conduct daily tracking and recording of the malnutrition data at the site.

Conduct an effective beneficiaries counselling activity

Conduct regular follow up and management of beneficiaries’

Conduct the daily TSFP food supplements distribution activity

Assist in preparation of weekly and Monthly TSFP project progress report

Assist in managing the (TSFP) referrals system

Assist in managing the (TSFP) complaint and feedback system

Daily reporting of the TSFP activity

Conduct duties in accordance with GHIV Africa protection Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Conduct duties strictly in accordance with GHIV Africa Code of Conduct and the principle of confidentiality.

Implement other tasks as might be required with relation to the GHIV Africa office coverage

Position Requirements

ND, HND or B.Sc qualification.

Minimum of 1 year experience from a national level project implementation position in a humanitarian / developmental context;

Experience in working in complex and volatile contexts;

Knowledge of WFP Blanket Supplementary Feeding Program (BSFP), TSFP, Crop production, home gardening;

Fluency in English & Hausa (Fluency in local language is of advantage;

Capacity to adapt to basic living conditions;

Ability to put up with job pressure;

Ability to deliver high quality work;

Good child care skills.

Preferred:

Previous experience in similar roles in a humanitarian set-up (WFP, UNICEF and BHA funded project)

Good knowledge of the intervention area/s and local context.
