Summary of Responsibilities:

The Third Party Site Procurement Leader is responsible for Home Chef food and packaging procurement at our third party manufacturing site in Las Vegas, NV. The Site Procurement Leader must be able to oversee multiple activities simultaneously, including:

Determining the order quantities for food and packaging

Submitting PO's to procure required ingredientsEnsuring all product arrives in a timely manner and meets quality expectations

Reacting to and mitigating shortages of food or packaging with other functions within the facility to execute Home Chef initiatives.

Strong communication is required to ensure Home Chef corporate and plant teams are up to speed on issues occurring at the third party manufacturing site, as well as translating any plan changes to the third party manufacturing site.

Detailed Responsibilities:

    • Procurement:
    • Procuring ingredients across all food categories for Home Chef products will be the core responsibility of the Third Party Site Procurement Leader. Activities involved in fulfilling this responsibility to include:
    • Managing ordering process for multiple menu cycles by balancing lead times, forecast variability, and multiple purchase orders
    • Placing timely, accurate orders with Home Chef vendors and/or sourcing product locally
    • Working regularly in Excel to determine purchase quantities
    • Utilizing Home Chef ERP system to cut purchase orders and track in-house inventory
    • Working cross functionally with site quality and production teams daily
    • Reducing excess over orders by tracking product starting inventory and cutting orders as needed
    • Quickly sourcing short product and resolving problems related to inventory, product quality, and yields in a timely manner
    • Balancing production schedule with product perishability to determine best product delivery date
    • Balancing food costs with product quality by sourcing product from vendors that can meet Home Chef's delivery dates and quality expectations
    • Reviewing product yields and over orders on a weekly basis and make adjustments as needed
    • Managing product yields and forecast variability while adjusting product quantities as neededHelping coordinate transfers from Home Chef's facilities when necessary
    • Inventory:
    • Tracking inventory levels (with the help of the site team) will be critical to informing procurement decisions. The Third Party Site Procurement Leader will need to:
    • Work with third party warehouse team to ensure all product, food and packaging required for production tasks have been received in full on site and recorded into Home Chef systems
    • Escalate quality and other issues that may result in future product shorts to the Home Chef corporate teams
    • Oversee the accuracy of daily and weekly counts conducted and recorded by the site and work with the site team to develop rigorous processes to ensure accurate counts and timely surfacing of shorts
    • Transfers:
    • The Third Party Site Procurement Leader will work closely with the Home Chef corporate Logistics team and the San Bernardino facility team to transfer certain ingredients from the Home Chef San Bernardino facility to the third party site which cannot be sourced directly to the third party site. Activities pertaining to this responsibility will include:
    • Checking the transfer tool to validate numbers and verify site needs
    • Communicating with the San Bernardino site team on what is in-house at the San Bernardino facility and what is needed at the third party site
    • Coordinating with the Logistics team on creating transfer orders and scheduling transfers

    • Minimum of 2+ years of successful supervisory or leadership experience in a fast-paced environment
    • Track record of driving KPIs and meeting or exceeding goal required
    • Proficient on using tablets and PC's
    • Must be able to lift up to 49 pounds occasionally with or without reasonable accommodationCross-functional experience in 2 more departments (warehouse, production, quality, procurement etc.) preferred
    • Completion of 2-year degree such as Associate's Degree
