Primary Function: The primary purpose of this position is to install, maintain, support and troubleshoot the enterprise network, VoIP telephone, printing, and IT security systems at the College. Network connections include the high-speed local and wide area data network, the College's data center and wireless networks, which provide user access to the Academic, Administrative and internet related systems.
Responsibilities: (1) Assists with research, specification, installation, maintenance, and support activities for the College's data centers and multi-campus network infrastructure; (2) Supports and troubleshoots internet connections, including vendor interactions; (3) Provides primary technology support for specification, installation and maintenance for enterprise printers; (4) Supports network and device requirements for enterprise telecommunication systems; (5) Monitors and supports enterprise security systems, devices, and appliances; (6) Develops and maintains enterprise network documentation; (7) Provides guidance and technical support for enterprise desktop installations; (8) Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Organizational Relationships: Position reports to the Manager, Technology Infrastructure Services
Performance Standards: Performance in this position is considered to be satisfactory when: (1) mutually agreed upon objectives have been obtained within a specified time frame, (2) responsibilities of the position have been carried out at a level consistent with performance objectives, (3) effective and cooperative relationships exist with the other members of the, information technology services staff, as well as other members of the administrative team, faculty and other members of the College community.
Qualifications: (1) Education/Work Experience: Associates degree in Computer Science or related field from a regionally accredited institution, and at least 6 years related experience, or Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, and at least 3 years related experience, or equivalent, relevant, substantial work experience. (2) Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Good customer service skills are required. Excellent problem solving and network troubleshooting skills are required. Ability to handle multiple, simultaneous projects, and interact with vendors for solutions. (3) Systems Experience: Knowledge of and experience with network operating systems, TCP/IP, data cabling, Windows Operating Systems, printing solutions, VoIP & SIP Telephony and network security. Prefer experience with Juniper SRX, Cisco Routers, Aruba/HPE switches and wireless.
