Duties & Responsibilities

Financial Management:


Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, Prepare, analyze, and present accurate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.


Budgeting and Forecasting:


Develop, monitor, and manage budgets to align with organizational goals, Provide financial forecasts to guide business decisions.


Tax Compliance:


Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and handle tax filings, remittances, and audits.


Internal Controls:


Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.


Inventory Accounting:


Manage inventory accounting and reconcile stock movement with financial records.
Collaborate with store managers to ensure accurate stock reporting and valuation.


Team Leadership:


Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless financial operations.


Stakeholder Communication:


Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions.
Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic financial planning.


Minimum Education Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional certification such as ICAN, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent is mandatory.


Skills & Experience:


7-10 years of accounting experience, with at least 8 years in a senior accounting role in the retail industry.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems).
In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and tax laws in Nigeria.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
