Job title: Senior Accountant

Industry: Global FMCG/Agro-Allied

Location: Benin (Edo State)

Remuneration: 700-800Net Monthly

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

•Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements by GAAP.

•Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for financial performance to management.

•Develop financial models and forecasts based on business trends and operational data.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

•Collaborate with department heads to create annual budgets and forecasts.

•Monitor budget-to-actual performance and provide recommendations for cost efficiencies.

•Prepare cash flow projections and analyze funding needs.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

•Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

•Perform regular audits to identify discrepancies and improve processes.

•Support external audits and assist in the preparation of audit schedules.

Cost Management:

•Analyze manufacturing costs and overhead expenses to optimize profitability.

•Implement cost control initiatives and monitor cost trends.

•Evaluate product pricing strategies and profitability analysis.

Financial Operations:

•Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.

•Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial transactions.

•Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure accurate financial records.

Financial Strategy and Decision Support:

•Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.

•Participate in strategic planning sessions and contribute to business growth initiatives.

•Assess financial risks and opportunities, and recommend actions to mitigate risks.

Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

•Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in packaging or related industries.

•In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.

•Minimum of 7 years experience

•Strong proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; experience with SAP or Oracle is a plus.

•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

•Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across departments.

•Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
