The Regional Liability Administrator assists the adjusting staff and make confident decisions involving the handling of claims. In our ever-changing claims environment this position requires an understanding of the application of policy contract and how it relates to the liability and damages aspects of claims
The GEICO Regional Liability Administrator will review and assist adjusters at various levels in the decision-making process of claims involving coverage issues, liability disputes and assessments of damages to ensure proper strategy is followed leading to confident decisions. Claims will vary from simple to complex and often involve strategic discussions.
A newly hired associate will go through a training program for complex claim handling expectations, contracts, determining legal liability of a claim, and settlement negotiation. Some of the training will be in our Washington, D.C. office for several days (expenses paid by GEICO).
The Regional Liability Administrator will:
Review coverage referrals from adjusters to provide feedback to complete the investigation or make a coverage assessment.
Coordinate and attend discussions with the adjusting staff, claims management team members and/or legal staff members to discuss claim file issues, develop strategy for future handling or obtain agreement for resolution.
Assist in development of training for the various levels of adjusters in handling of all aspects of claims handling (Coverage, Liability and Damages).
Audit files from various levels of adjusters to verify that claims coverage investigations are followed.
Work within a team to review polices for language changes.

5 or moreyears of current/recent insurance industry experience as a claims adjuster/examiner, defense counsel or staff counsel.
Extensive knowledge of policy contracts, good faith handling and claims handling strategy.
Law degree in good standing. A Florida adjusting license will be required unless a member of the Florida Bar.
