Job Title: Project Manager - Waste Recycling and Construction Management

Location: Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

As the Project Manager for our Waste Recycling Projects in Lagos and Enugu State, you will play a critical role in planning, executing, and delivering sustainable waste recycling projects.

Your extensive experience in project management and deep knowledge of civil, construction, and electromechanical aspects of projects will be instrumental in the successful completion of these initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, while considering the unique challenges and opportunities presented by Waste Recycling Projects, associated landfills and leachate ponds.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, government agencies, suppliers, subcontractors, and community stakeholders to ensure project success and compliance with regulations.

Team Leadership: Manage a multidisciplinary project team, providing clear direction, motivation, and guidance to achieve project goals.

Risk Management: Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor risk factors throughout the project lifecycle.

Quality Assurance: Oversee the implementation of quality control and safety measures, ensuring that all project activities adhere to industry standards and company policies.

Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, control expenses, and report on financial performance to ensure projects are delivered within budget constraints.

Reporting: Prepare and deliver regular project status reports to Executive Management and stakeholders, highlighting progress, challenges, and potential solutions.

Procurement: Collaborate with the procurement team to source materials and services required for project execution.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, fostering a culture of safety throughout the project.

Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains, implementing best practices to optimize project delivery.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's and Advanced degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required.

A minimum of 15 years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on Civil Works, Construction Management, or Electromechanical Engineering.

Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects, ideally in the field of waste recycling or related sustainability initiatives.

Extensive experience working in Nigeria or similar regions, with a deep understanding of local regulations and industry dynamics.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

PMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant project management certifications are preferred.

A member of a state recognized professional body is required

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

Proficiency in project management software (namely MS Project, Prima Vera) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Flexibility to travel and work in both Lagos and Enugu State, as required by project demands.
