Daily Duties and Responsibilities
Material Inspection and Preparation:
Check and inspect raw materials (resins, additives, fillers, etc.) for quality and quantity.
Measure and weigh materials according to the specified formula or recipe for the pipe manufacturing process.
Ensure that the mixing equipment is clean, calibrated, and ready for use.
Mixing Operations:
Operate mixing equipment (such as blenders or mixers) to blend materials according to the required proportions and specifications.
Monitor mixing parameters (temperature, time, speed, etc.) to ensure consistent and uniform material blending.
Adjust mixing settings as needed to achieve the desired material properties.
Quality Control:
Collect samples from the mixed materials for quality testing and analysis.
Perform visual inspections and basic tests to identify any abnormalities in color, texture, or consistency.
Record and report any deviations from quality standards to the quality control department.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of materials used, mixing parameters, and batch numbers.
Update inventory records to track material consumption and ensure sufficient stock levels.
Equipment Maintenance:
Clean and sanitize mixing equipment after each batch to preventcross-contamination and ensure equipment longevity.
Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the maintenance department.
Communication and Collaboration:
Coordinate with production and quality control teams to ensure timely availability of mixed materials for pipe production.
Communicate any issues or concerns related to material mixing to the relevant stakeholders.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while handling materials and operating equipment.
Adhere to environmental, health, and safety regulations during material mixing operations.
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree: A Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field is often preferred.
A relevant diploma or certification may be acceptable depending on experience.
Experience:
Prior Experience: Candidates should have 2-5 years of relevant experience in material mixing, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience in PVC pipe manufacturing is a significant advantage.
Technical Knowledge:
Materials Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the characteristics, properties, and behaviours of raw materials used in pipe manufacturing, including resins, additives, and colorants.
Mixing Equipment: Familiarity with various types of mixing equipment such as high-speed mixers, twin-screw extruders, and blenders.
Quality Control: Understanding of quality control processes related material mixing and the ability to perform quality checks and tests on mixed materials.
Safety: Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures associated with handling chemicals and operating mixing equipment.
Skills:
Mixing Skills: Proficiency in the operation of mixing equipment and the ability to adjust parameters to achieve the desired material characteristics.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to monitor material properties and identify deviations or inconsistencies.
