Job Brief:
We are looking to hire a passionate and effective Stores manager to direct and manage receiving, warehousing and effective distribution of our raw materials.
The person will oversee the efficient request, receipt, storage, value-adding servicing and distribution of a wide variety of products.
Ultimately, s/he should be able to ensure productivity targets are achieved and that all stores/warehouse processes are running smoothly and promptly.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of warehouse and store operations
Manage the central warehouse and store's budget and control expenses.
Schedule and oversee stores/warehouse team, and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime
Meet with the team quarterly, communicate new procedures and emphasize adherence to SOP’s. Champion the training and continuous upgrade of the team members in conjunction with the L & D Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate with sales and marketing team to gather demand insights for material planning.
Ensure the organization's inventory practices are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with overall business objectives.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost reduction initiatives. Generate regular reports on inventory performance and key metrics.
Develop strategies for disposing of obsolete or slow-moving inventory to minimize financial losses
Manage the warehouse facility and distribution logistics
Perform all other tasks assigned by the management.
Requirements:
Excellent problem-solving skills, strong decision making and leadership qualities with strong communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively with all relevant stakeholders with minimal supervision.
At least proven 3-5 years’ work experience in similar role
Strong knowledge and hands on experience in relevant stores/warehouse software and databases. And a proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
A University or Polytechnic graduate in related field e.g., Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Logistics etc., A master’s degree and relevant certifications will be an added advantage.
