Job Description

Responsible for the smooth running of designated rooms through the structured timetable and school guidelines.

Promote the general care and welfare of all children and more particularly, the children in designated classrooms.

Maintain a daily register and supervise children in and out of the classroom, during other extra-curricular activities.

Study and discover the personality of each student in your care.

Work with the School management to develop and maintain the school’s Montessori program and use the weekly themed scheme.

Organize relevant and appropriate field trips and outings.

Maintain the standard and complete sets of Montessori materials and create appropriate new ones.

Ensure all parents’ policies and procedures are followed, and all relevant forms, from and for parents,are completed and collected daily.

Conduct or arrange the general cleaning of your room and ensure it is safe for the children.

Prepare termly reports regarding the student's progress and development.

Be willing to work in other classrooms of the School when required.

Organize and attend ‘Parent Teacher Conferences’ every term.

Qualifications

Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields

Montessori diploma/certificate from a recognized and approved Montessori College

Minimum of 3 years experience as an Elementary Directress within a practicing Montessori setting.

First Aid certified

Skills:

Competent in Arts & Craft

Ability to create and maintain a prepared environment, plan ahead, and meet deadlines.

Knowledge of childcare and the required Health & Safety and Policy & Procedures standards in a Montessori / preschool setting

Sincere and genuine love of children.

Self-motivated and able to motivate others.

Good organizational and communication skills.

Possess basic Computer skills.

Flexible and an effective team player

Initiative and ability to cope under pressure.

Maintain a Professional disposition at all times.

Warm, caring personality; and good rapport with adults and children alike

An enthusiastic ‘can–do’ attitude.
