Responsibilities:

This is a 12-month academic role with clinical education administration leadership as the primary responsibility, and teaching and scholarly expectations commensurate with the candidate's expertise. The successful candidate will have the responsibility of managing the clinical education program including serving as a liaison between the program and clinical education sites, facilitating ongoing development of clinical education sites and clinical faculty, and overseeing student clinical placements, performance, and assessment. In addition to traveling to campus for immersive labs, the Director of Clinical Education will travel, when appropriate, for clinical site development and student support and assessment during clinical internships. Anticipated start date is May 1, 2021.

Required qualifications include:

  • 3 years of clinical experience with record of serving as a clinical educator
  • Attainment of a Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree or academic doctorate (PhD, EdD, DSc) from accredited institution.
  • Current and unrestricted physical therapy license

Preferred qualification include:

  • 3 years of full-time higher education experience
  • Previous experience as a Director of Clinical Education
  • Previous experience with the CAPTE accreditation process
  • Certification as an APTA clinical specialist
