Job Description
We are looking to recruit a competitive an experienced Design/Solution Specialist to join our innovative, fast-growing company.
Ultimately, you will be a member of our brilliant engineering team, designing new cutting-edge solutions/products.
To be successful in this position, you should have hands-on experience using CAD software, with strong attention to detail and a creative flair. It’s also important that you have rock-solid project management skills to meet the daily demands of the role.
Responsibilities
Direct and manage project development from start to finish.
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with executive management and other relevant stakeholders.
Ensure projects are well executed within the agreed date of delivery and do not attract fault calls & within the approved Budget.
Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
Ensure that all fault calls on ongoing projects are accepted with customer empathy and attended to as a matter of urgency.
Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
Ensure all control measures/safety effects provided on site are used and maintained as allocated.
Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.
Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools to effectively track project milestones and deliverables.
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, and documentation.
Proactively manage changes in project scope and identify potential crises.
Ensure that all work tools provided are well used, kept safe and accounted for
Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project lifecycle.
Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
Submit reports during and after the completion of Projects.
Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
And all other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
A Degree in Computer Engineering, or a similar field with Certification in Computing Hardware
Previous experience as a Design & Solution Engineer or a similar role
Good understanding of safety standards and the environmental impact of a design
Ability to present in front of stakeholders and managers
Great computational ability
Excellent oral and written communication
Product-focused creative thinking
In-depth knowledge of industry design principles
Strong working knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) or engineering software is a plus
Impeccable attention to detail
Good project management skills
Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal
Excellent time management and prioritization skills
Effective oral and written communication
Great leadership skills.
