Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, review, and approve structural designs, drawings, and calculations.
Perform load analysis, stress testing, and risk assessments to ensure structural safety.
Select appropriate materials and construction techniques to enhance durability and cost-effectiveness.
Lead structural engineering teams in the planning and execution of construction projects.
Oversee site inspections to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
Coordinate with architects, contractors, and regulatory bodies for seamless project execution.
Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Conduct structural inspections, assessments, and audits for existing and new projects.
Identify and mitigate potential structural risks before and during construction.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to project teams.
Conduct training sessions on best engineering practices and innovations.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and problem-solving within the engineering team.
Organizing materials and ensuring sites are safe and clean.
Providing technical advice and suggestions for improvement on projects.
Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to ensure the best values.
Authorizing technical details and engineering plans.
Drawing up work schedules, POW and communicating any adjustments to team members and Management.
Gathering data, compiling reports and delivering presentations to relevant stakeholders.
Delegating tasks and scheduling meetings and training sessions where required.
Completing quality assurance and providing feedback to the team.
Any other projects as may be assigned.
Essential Requirements
M.Sc in Civil/Structural Engineering/Building
10 – 12 years of executive-level experience as a Senior Engineer in a related field
Registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) or CORBON.
A member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) or NIOB
