Job Summary
Fossil Free California is a 501(c)(3) California nonprofit with a mission to move money out of fossil fuels and support a just transition to the clean energy economy. The development consultant will work 10-20 hours per month identifying opportunities for foundation grants and tracking/submitting LOIs and proposals. The development consultant will be responsible for building relationships with foundations. The consultant will take primary responsibility for grant applications with the support of the Board President and other volunteers as available.
The applicant will work remotely and qualify as an independent contractor.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Identifying opportunities for foundation grants to support our campaigns
Tracking and submitting LOIs and proposals to foundations and grantors
Building relationships with foundations for ongoing grants
On occasion, advising the communications team on effective donor campaign strategies
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1-3 years of fundraising experience required
Familiarity with the non-profit sector
Experience completing successful grant applications
Knowledge of foundations offering grants to environmental organizations
Experience developing successful donor campaigns is a plus
Compensation
Hourly rate TBD, depending on experience
