Application Administrator HND / BA / BSc Job

What you’ll do

Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve.
Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large, distributed software applications.
Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health.
Automation or elimination of anything repetitive that's also cost-effective to automate or eliminate.
Responsible for change management by partnering with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
Responsible for incident management which involves communication with stakeholders and provision of incident reports.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other highly technical, scientific discipline & at least 3 - 4 years' experience as an SRE / DevOps Engineer/Application Administrator.
Ability to program (structured and OO) with one or more high level languages, such as Python, Java, C/C++, Ruby, and JavaScript.
Experience with distributed storage technologies like NFS, HDFS, Ceph, S3 as well as dynamic resource management frameworks (Mesos, Kubernetes, Yarn)
Experience with cloud computing technologies such as AWS, Azure and GCP.
Experience with basic database management, Linux and Windows Server OS.
Experience with monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Grafana, ELK, New Relic
Experience with 24/7 shift-based structures.
A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks.
Behavioral competencies required: Attentiveness, Conscientiousness, Dependability, Proactiveness and an analytical/problem solving mindset.
Certifications under any of the cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP.
