Primary Function: Seeking a part-time (up to 29 hours/week) Admissions Assistant to serve as a primary receptionist for visitors to our Student Enrollment Center. Day and evening hours (until 7:00 pm) will be required. Additional responsibilities will include continuously expanding knowledge about all areas of the enrollment process including admission, registration, financial aid, and tuition payment. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, a commitment to community college education, and the ability to work with a team serving a diverse population. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities: (1) Provide information to students: Serve as a resource for students and community members on all areas of the enrollment process, including admissions, registration, financial aid, and tuition payment. (2) Perform office support functions as directed: prepare and distribute correspondence and forms; maintain forms and supplies inventories; operate general office equipment, such as a copier, scanner and fax machine as required; (3) Perform duties related to student admission and records: create and update student record in administrative computer systems from electronic and paper submissions; support digital imaging initiatives; provide students with forms, records or correspondence as needed; provide customer service support; gather information; correspond with other departments and campuses as appropriate; assist with Open House and other recruitment events. (4) Perform recordkeeping and reporting functions: with specific instructions, prepare special reports and projects using College standard software for word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; (5) Implement special responsibilities: as assigned by supervisor.

Performance Standards: Performance in this position is considered satisfactory when: (1) responsibilities of the position have been carried out at a level to ensure efficient office functioning; (2) effective cooperative relationships exist with faculty, other staff members, and students.

Qualifications: (1) Education: (a) high school diploma; (b) any combination of training and experience which would facilitate the performance of the above duties; (2) Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: (a) ability to use technology systems and tools to support office operations; (b) accurate keyboarding, including figures and form completion; (c) proficient in College standard software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; (d) aptitude for work to be performed; (e) strong oral and written communication skills; (f) adaptability; (g) high degree of reliability; (h) high degree of confidentiality; (i) ability to organize work; (j) ability to function effectively as a member of a team.
