Account Officer MBA / MSc / MA Job

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Account Officer to join our team. The Account Officer will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role is critical to the efficient financial management of our organization and will support our mission by ensuring the transparency and accountability of our financial practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and tax documents.
Prepare and process invoices, payments, and receipts.
Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including donor requirements.
Support the annual audit process and prepare necessary documentation.
Collaborate with project managers to monitor and report on project budgets.
Provide financial advice and support to staff and management as needed.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Must have managed accounting books of a company.
Must have a good accounting skill in managing sales and inventory.
Must have excellent reconciliation and account balancing skills for distributors and sales teams.
Have a sound knowledge of stock and bank reconciliations.
Must have excellent supervisory and managerial skills
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an advantage.

QUALIFICATIONS

MSc/BSc in Accounting.
